Youth and Young Adult Ministry are very important in the Central Texas Conference and this department exists to help churches have the strongest and most healthy ministries possible for students in 6th-12th grade as well as young adults ages 18-35. Leanne Johnston is the Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. She works with the student leadership and programs throughout the conference as well as being a resource for local churches and districts in the areas of youth and young adult ministries. She is available to troubleshoot, vision, and assist in any way possible at the local church, ministry, or programming level.

Young Adult Ministry
Young Adult Ministry officially refers to the ministry to and for people ages 18-35 and typically includes college or campus ministry, ministry for those just starting a career, singles, young couples, and young families. Youth Ministry
“The term youth ministry is an inclusive title, encompassing all the concerns of the church and all activities by, with, and for youth. The youth ministry of the United Methodist Church shall include all persons from approximately twelve through eighteen years of age (generally persons in the seventh grade through twelfth grade, taking into account the grouping of youth in the public schools), who are currently or potentially associated with the church or any of it’s activities.” The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church 2008 ¶256.3 For more information about youth ministry in the Central Texas Conference, please click here.
