Youth Ministry in the Central Texas Conference means raising up student leaders, supporting youth workers, and growing disciples for Jesus Christ.
Conference Council on Youth Ministries (CCYM) is our team of student leaders. This committee is comprised of 4 subcommittees: Hospitality/Publicity, Worship, Missions/Service, and Administration/Organization. Team members are accepted on a rolling basis upon completion of the following application. (Confused about CCYM and CTCYM? Confusing acronyms explained!)
Support for youth workers
In order to support all youth workers, whether paid, unpaid, volunteer, full-time, part-time, etc. we offer a variety of options. Youth Worker Gatherings are for youth ministers – paid, volunteer, full-time, part-time, rural or urban! These meetings are chance for resourcing, sharing, encouraging and networking with other youth ministers. While the United Methodist Church was built on the connectional system, often youth workers feel isolated and alone. Gatherings will be small communities of youth workers that can engage in each other’s lives while sharing the highs and lows of youth ministry. Gatherings are scheduled in each district and typically meet monthly. If you are interested in an upcoming gathering, check this list to see if there is one in your area. If you’d like to start a new gathering, please contact Leanne Johnston and we’ll get you on the list!
